Hello everyone today I’m going over meditation music, the benefits of it, the different types, and applying it to everyday life. Almost every person I’ve ever met likes some type of music. Music has been in the lives of humans for centuries and is a big part of our history. Music can make you feel all different emotions and make you think of different memories of your life. Set back put on some nice soothing tones and enjoy.
Music and your mood
It has been scientifically proven that music can change your mood. Listening to different types of music can make you stronger, reduce seizures, make you smarter, reduce stress, reduce pain, symptoms of depression, make you calmer, feel happy, laugh, but some music can have the opposite affect, mad, sad, irritated, depressed.
I’ve listened to all types of music throughout my life like rap, heavy metal, country etc…I’m sure you have too. I know when I listened to heavy metal I would hope somebody would start some crap with me because I was ready to fight. Always in a road rage, and driving 100 miles an hour banging my head and screaming(teenage years) lol. Rap music makes me feel somewhat the same as heavy metal, and country music normally makes me sad and feel like crying.
These are just some examples I have had personal experience with. Every person is different what makes me sad might make another person happy. Why listen to something that is going to make you feel angry, mad, sad, anything but happy.
Now days I listen to nothing but positive upbeat music and meditation music because it’s positive, soothing, angelic, and it makes you relax and feel wonderful. lowering your stress and anxiety. When your stress and anxiety are lowered it can even help blood pressure and lowering your heart rate.
Different Types of Meditation Music
There are several different types of music and ill go over the most common. There is healing music. Most of your healing music out there is 432 Hz. This is a certain frequency known to have healing properties.
There is deep meditation music, there is calming and relaxing music, there is music to help you sleep better. There is also sound machines which are really effective. They produce sounds of nature like ocean sounds, white noise, thunder, rain, summer night, water running, etc. these also help your baby sleep better.
This type of music, just the title alone, will put the idea in you mind, like healing music will make you think it’s going to heal you so it does. Calming music has the word calm in it so just from you believing its calming it will calm you etc… This works on the same principle as positive affirmations.
Positive affirmations are you simply telling yourself something every day, like, ” I feel Great and wonderful, I’m successful, I am going to have a great day”, etc… lf you say these things to yourself everyday you mind influences your subconscious mind and your subconscious mind will make this come true without you even realizing it.
Applying Music to Meditations and more.
If you meditate regularly then you can implement music into your meditation easily, If you don’t meditate and want to start see my, how to meditation for beginners, article. They key to having a quality meditation is getting yourself into a wonderful, great, euphoric feeling before you do your meditation, this will set your mood for the day and have a great day.
Sometimes it can be very challenging to get yourself into a good mood before meditation, or anytime. Music for some people can be the easiest way to put themselves in a good mood, or it can trigger a memory of a really happy time in your life. Experiment by listening to all different types of meditation music, find the one that just puts you in that wonderful mood and gives you chills.
Before, meditation turn the music of your choice on. Turn the volume down low it will be easier to relax and calm down before your meditation, also use any thoughts to make you feel great and then begin you meditation. This is also where I want you to use positive affirmations, say out loud to yourself any positive saying before you meditate. Whatever it is that you desire to achieve. If you want to quit smoking tell yourself every day, ” I don’t smoke anymore I quit”. Then do your meditation.
Apply this music to your everyday life. Listen to it on the drive to work. Get some earbuds and listen to it at work. Turn it on low so your whole office can hear and help them relax as well. Listen to it while your cooking dinner at home. Anytime your trying to relax, anywhere you can listen to music and if it’s soothing, positive music it will surely help.
Music is a part of life
For most people music is a part of everyday life. Is has been proven that humans develop a habit in 21 days. I encourage and challenge you to listen to nothing but meditation, positive, upbeat, music for 21 days straight. Try not listen to any other music that’s not positive for the 21 days and just see if it helps.
You will be happier and more relaxed every day. I personally, havnt listened to negative music in years now and I honestly don’t like it anymore. Movies do the same thing to me. I don’t watch anything with negative content, like scary movies, I cant sleep and ill have evil images in my head for a day or so, I only watch happy movies or movies that make you laugh, because it makes you feel good. It has made me to become more positive and have a smile on my face, just from getting rid of the negative music will change how you feel.
